About the Authors:

Husband and wife Doohyun Kim and Jiyeon Maeng co-authored the story of their escape from North Korea. Both earned their Bachelor's degrees from Utah Valley University. They enjoy busy careers, take pride in their family, and are sought-after public speakers.

Author Heidi Tucker embraced the story of this brave young couple, helping translate it from Korean to English and supplementing it with further research and interviews. She is widely recognized for her uplifting writing and hopes to motivate others to rise up and find strength in their journeys.
